This tutorial is designed for Illustrator CS and Photoshop CS, however, it will work with anything that can be turned into a custom shape. So, if you can get your logo from Corel Draw, Freehand etc to show up in Photoshop as a Path, you can do this too. It just happens that it works particularly easily from Illustrator.

Here's the logo in Illustrator. It works best with one color logos with cut out holes. (In this example, the original logo had a white oval that had to be changed to a see-though hole, using the Pathfinder minus front command).
