Now, aside from the fact that this once very beautiful woman no longer has a face (weíll get to that) she also has no shadows - which makes her look kind of, well, flat!

So, what we need now are more levels adjustment layers.

Lower the opacity of the fur you want to add layers to, and then using the lasso tool select areas that show on the base photo as having shadow.

Press and hold the shift button to add extra areas. Now right click > feather > 5px. Then add the adjustment layer and play with the levels to make it darker (lowering the white point and mid-tones usually suffices). Any extra areas of shadow you want to add can be done with a soft brush on the levels mask.

Adding a thin line of shadow around the sandal straps help them merge in a lot better
