Style?

I dunno why, but for some reason my style button i saway, when i make a custom shape, it dont even come in its own layer, wich is giving me some trouble, anyone know how i can get my style button/Custom shape in vector layer thing back??
If its for any help i have photoshop 7.0

Is it doing this with a new document? Or are you opening an old one?

In the upper left corner of the options bar there are 3 little boxes when a vector tool is selected. Click the leftmost box. It will draw a vector shape layer. The middle box draws just a path. The rightmost box draws just a raster element.

Ahhh...I thought it was one of those good ole 8-bit or RGB problems.
