Hey, need some help here.
I just downloaded the free tryout for Illustrator 11 CS.
On the onset it looks very impressive but playing around with it I can get a ways but I really don't know what I'm doing.
I have thirty days to decide if I want to get a copy before the trial is over.
Anyone have any useful tut links for an absolute rank beginner in Illustrator?
From what I have seen so far, I could really get into vectoring, this engine seems astounding!
Thanks
Scott

Google will turn up a lot more. I had some beginner ones.. can't seem to find them now though. I'll keep digging.

That should keep ya busy ;) Seriously though...I believe Adobe has builtin tuturials in the Help section that help out a lot. A quick way to have fun is to grab your tablet and start using the brushes right from the get-go. Illustrator's 1st initial exposure is so intimidating but stick to it. It's poweful as heck...

Thanks guys, looks like I may be a bit busy for a while :)
And PDG, I agree, it seems to be a beast of a vector graphics machine.
I've personally reached a point where I value scalability. I love the fact that vectors in general can scale to any size imaginable. Then again, I'm a big fan of clean, sharp illustrations. Especially the Russian-style propaganda posters.
Yes, Photoshop is a powerhouse too, but there's nothing more aggravating than having a client ask you for a larger version of an old ad and spending several days recreating it from scratch to avoid pixelation.
Best 'o luck, TC!

Just use the drop down on the right to select "Illustrator".
And another though only the first few are available for viewing...
