On my new HP laptop with Photoshop CS, photoshop is calling up photo's. when I double click
on any photo in MY Pictures. On my other desktop's, they use the windows
browser to bring up the photo's. Any help to fix this??????

Hi fnikodem and welcome!

I'm a little unclear as to what exactly your'e after.....

Do you not want Photoshop to open images when they are double-clicked?

Or

You do want Photoshop to open images when they are double-clicked?

I don't want Photoshop CS to open the images automatically, when double clicked.
I wanted the windows browser to open them, as its alot faster. It takes so long
for photoshop to open them..

If it's windows XP, right click on an image file, select 'Open with', choose the program to open it and check 'always use this program'.

Okay, go to Windows Explorer, select a file type you want to open in Photoshop, right click, go to Open With, select Choose Program, click Browse, select your Explorer executable, and make sure "Always use..." is checked.

I'm not a PC user (I prefer Macs) but that's the best information I'm aware of to change file associations.

You know you can hear the echo of a duck quacking in a cave? :)

What Jolt & Trin said should fix your problem.

We posted at the same time Trin. I wasn't trying to steal your thunder. You know very well if it's a PC problem I'll step back a bit :)

when you loaded PS, the pref for ps to open certain file types was probably ticked..not sure how to change without reloading the software ?
