Hello everyone. Just found this place and joined up ..... (waves).

My name is Doug (dcloud) and I started designing for the Web about five years ago, after a friend asked me to design him a logo for his website. He turned me onto Photoshop so I went and downloaded the trial copy and took it for a spin. When that program first opened up on my desktop I was like "Ohmigod!" - the thing looked like Mission Control, lol.

I spent about three months looking up tons of tutorials on the Web and teaching myself how to use PS. Then I joined up for a couple PS classes at lvsonline.com and learned even more. I also found some awesome PS gurus who have helped me out a lot (kudos to Colin Smith, Al ward, Bert Monroy, and Mark Larmand - you guys are the greatest!). I was amazed .... my friend paid me for designing his logo and I thought, "Hey, I could do this for a living."

So here I am. Looking forward to the contests ...

Great names you've rattled off there. Looks like you've learned from some very knowledgeable people.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone :)

I do have a couple questions. Hope it's all right to ask them here .... I was checking out your contests, and on the one for Advanced Contest #83 | Label Art I saw it said: "Do NOT use the themepost in your image."

What does this mean?

It means "Don't use the themepost" i.e. the picture used to give you an idea of what is expected in the relevant contest .... find your own image or images to work with. This is normal unless otherwise specifically stated.

And guys, maybe we can reword Themepost to "Example Image". I too had a tough time figuring out what that meant in the past.
