On my recent macros for the challenge, I used the close-up setting on my Canon Rebel XTi as I have no macro lenses. Would it be helpful to go out and buy a set of these lenses? Also, Burndog mentions a "tiny sensor for close-up work." May I ask what that is?

Hi Hudakore.
A set of macro lenses, or filters that screw onto the end of your lens, can be an inexpensive way of taking macro photos and they can be purchased from e-bay, you just need to know the filter size of your lens. Dedicated macro lenses are preferable but more expensive.
The sensor Burndog refers to is the type installed in point and shoot cameras which some people use quite well!
Hope this helps.

other ways to shoot macro is to get a special adapter that allows you to mount your lens backwards (try looking through a lens backwards and you'll see why). also there are tube extenders that go between the lens and the camera that allow you to shoot macro as well.
