Canon 30d vs Nikon D80

I would like to buy a dsl in the near future and it came down to canon or nikon. I prefer the canon because it is large for my hands. The D80 feels okay too. I'm just looking for a camera that I can take very good pictures. For example, pictures of the kids, action, and some close ups of animals etc. I would like to know which one should I get.

I recently bought a Canon 400D & it is awesome!!! but as with everything it kinda depends on how it feels I guess...I was told mine would be heavy for me but I really love the weight & grip of it plus it takes awesome shots with pretty precise colors....considerin I am still tryin to learn all about settings focus etc :)

GraphicallyPut, what made you chose Canon over Nikon? Canon cameras are too small for my hands. I had tried the Nikon D80 and the Canon 30d, those are large cameras for people with large hands.
