Ok I give up on bloody microsoft I have both my pooters in at the IT guy & the poor bugger has just learned what I have always said is true.....I NEVER have a NORMAL problem with my pooters :(

now my beast (pc) has decided it doesn't wanna recognize the monitor despite tryin new monitors graphic cards etc & the damn laptop thinks it aint got a harddrive???? I was originally gettin a mac notebook & got convinced to get a Ubeaut HP notebook instead (Curse my impatience) coz to get a Mac was gonna take longer lol

So now...I want a Mac PC with THE BEST possible setup as in graphics card speed etc. So Scott & other Mac devotees I need your advice as to what I oughta aim at? I have Adobe lighthouse, illustrator & photoshop & will eventually get indesign too so I need to know myself what specs I need so there is no possible way of gettin talked into just gettin what they wanna sell me. I will curb my impatience & sit out time wise til I can get THE BEST as I am appalled at the thought that had I raced off into the jobs offered me...they would still be waitin for the work to be done!!! That woulda really been a great start to my business :(

As y'all know it is still to my mind Tara's money & I don't wanna be throwin good money after bad...as it is I hafta get a Mac version of Cs but that aint so bad in that 3 is possibly gonna be out fully anyways so will just go for that...luckily I haven't opened illustrator so can swap for a Mac version & lighthouse is for both :)

In case I don't get to use my son's pooter in a soon time frame I thank thee all in advance...kinda conned him into lendin me his today by promisin to setup Cs for him

You could buy my G5.... :)

http://www.weichertcreative.com/g5

Not sure what shipping would be to OZ though.

Best possible system, if money is no object, a 8-core Mac Pro + 8GB RAM and at least 2 internal hard drives ($4000+).

You know I was soooo gonna do that!!!! But I have no idea on shippin costs or where to find out but y'know it wasn't so much coz I understood how good it was....was more coz I would feel so special havin YOUR old pooter :D Kinda befits the way all my journey to to this point started :) This site was where I found my goal in life

Shipping costs are outrageous overseas. You'd probably do better buying locally if possible. Anything that's a "G5" or "Pro" or Intel-Mac would work well.

Hey GP, welcome to the Darkside :)

Remember if you get an Intel-Mac you won't have to replace your CS quite yet as they'll run Windows and it's software. I think it'd probably be best to replace it with Mac side stuff whenn it's time to upgrade anyway though.
