Anyone use Corel Draw?

Hey, I was just asked if I wanted a job today! The job involves using Corel Draw and then using the image with a lazer etcher to make trophies, plaques, and other things. Does anyone here use Corel Draw and will my limited knowledge of Adobe Illustrator do me any good? I'm guessing the two programs are similar, both use vectors, but I have never stepped foot in the Corel Draw workspace. Any thoughts/comments would be appreciated. thanks!

I used a laser engraver and corel draw a billion years ago.

I can't speak for how the Illustrator knowledge will translate to Corel anymore, but I can tell you, 95-99% of what you will be doing is setting type. Which is easy to figure out. I certainly wouldn't let the Corel Knowledge or lack thereof hold you back. You'll pick it up quickly.

Thanks Scott, those are encouraging words. My job interview is tomorrow (I'm starting to feel the nerves) :) but I'm confident enough I'll get it. I'm just excited that I might be doing something that I enjoy for once!
