I am well chuffed to have won my first contest. Thanks everybody.

But, I noticed that Burndog has the same average points as me. How come I won and he/she didn't? How do you work out the averages for this?

Just curious.

The first one to enter (chronologically speaking) in cases of a draw wins. It has happened a few times.

Scores are simple averages (Sum of scores divided by number of votes)

Burndog is a he for sure :)

In the recent castle contest there was a 'tie' score between the 2nd and 3rd place entries, so same with yours, Lorraine, just a matter of timing (I simply can't get over how creative yours is! So I'm glad you got yours in first... it's definitely a winner!)
