First, thanks for helping. ;)

Second...
I am trying to make a swatch sheet for work. It's just going to have 1" x 1" squares of PMS colors. But, the trick is that I need to make some of them look shiny/metallic. Just so that they are not flat.

And I have no idea where to even start with that.

If you go to this thread on some other board (http://www.talkgraphics.com/showthread.php?t=22784) and look at the PDF that is attached, I need to do what is done in the square swatches at the top of the pic. Her directions are for DRAW and I'm not sure if they translate to Illustrator, nor to be honest, do I have the time to figure it out. I need to print this out and get it to a customer ASAP. Because God forbid she have an e-mail address for me to just e-mail it to.

Thanks so much!! I'll be back after the kids go to bed tonight to reply if anyone can help. :D

Maybe this will help you get started:

the metallic effects are made using gradients.

The geek's link is good. Basically they are simply gradients. If you need spot color gradients be certain to only use one spot color and tints of that color for the gradient. The Illustrator help files will help understand gradients if you aren't familiar with them.

Thanks! I figured it had to do with gradients. And I got it figured out last night from that tutorial. I really appreciate it.

I knew what to do, I am literally exhausted lately with working so much and hte kids that my brain was not going to figure it out the steps. LOL
