View Full Version : Placement of slave flashes

I own a Canon EOS 20D and a Canon Speedlite 580 EX. Since I take a lot of pictures indoors and bounce flash and diffusers aren’t always an option, I decided to invest in 2 additional flash units, both Sigma EF-500 DG Super.

I’ve tested the Master-Slave configuration and technically everything works fine. But when I looked for recommendations about the placement of the slaves, I couldn’t find much.

Can anyone direct me to a site that provides the info I’m looking for?

Thanks

Hi loso

Somebody on here gave me this site which may help.

http://www.studiolighting.net/portrait-lighting-styles/

Other wise trial and error is lots of fun, with digital you get the results straight away with no cost!

Have fun.

Thanks, Tuggie.

With Photoshop, the experts often come up with the weirdest techniques that produce the most amazing results. With flash lighting, I'll have to resort to trial and error. I'll continue practicing on a statue hoping to find myself a live model next weekend. LOL
