In the Invisible Objects 2 contest, I'm not sure if the sample image was created or made from an existing advertisement. If created, spectacular and if borrowed, amazing.
However, just for clarification, are we to use our own original images or borrowed from another source online?
Brian
It was created from an existing image that I borrowed. :)
The source image is inset to the final here ....

It's still amazing... however, my question still stands, can we or are we expected to borrow an image that will be recognizable as having been changed, or can we use our own source images? :)

You can use any image, doesn't have to be a movie star or the like. Your own personal image etc... just make sure that it is interacting directly with object/subject.
For example, remove the chaise lounge from under a sunbathing woman...remove the car from around a motorist...or remove a bench from Forrest Gump (as seen in the fantastic themepost by our very own Dave). Remember that the object you remove must be something that was directly interacting with some other object/person in the image.
Oh, and yes Daves image is amazing! :)

just a tip.. if you're interested in voting the more obvious the "lack" of an item is, generally the more dramatic the image therefore the better the vote.

I always get stuck on the dilemma of going for something easy to do that may get good marks or something technically difficult to do that may not score so highly but I will learn more from in the attempt. In this contest I'd be looking for something iconic .... my first thought was Eric Clapton playing the air guitar, but I just don't have the time ....
Master the patience must you my gentle padawan :darth:
Layers and masks are you friends GP, use them .... far more than I do!
