Any one out there want to attempt creating a tutorial for making a "hair" brush? It would be a terrific addition to our TUTORIAL SECTION :)
Joanie, have a look at this 4 page tutorial (http://digitalmediadesigner.com/2003/08_aug/tutorials/pshair030825.htm) for photoshop 7 and see if it can be adapted.
No, it's not a comb ..... :)

Thanks, Dave! Yes, I've seen this and several others. My skills at doing the tutorials are simply "crappy". I hesitate, because the last one I did, turned out awful, even with the helpful hands of Jolt and Silky :) I may try again, I'm a little leery as well as to how much I can use of other tuts. In my own words, would be oK.
........Unless there is another willing soul.........?

Ah yes Joanie...I'd love to see someone right here at PA do this tutorial. Then it would be ours, all ours. More folks would flock to PA just use it and find out where it came from :)

I put this somewhere, and it's very rough, but: create a new image (transparant) 200x200 pixels. Use your pencil tool at varying points and draw a squiggle, using black (vary the opacity as well). Make several of these "squiggles" in the box,and then save as brush preset. Go into the brush dialog box and play with jitter, scattering, and color dynamics. The default brushes at B&W make good grey hair.
Experiment a little and voila, hair!
:)
Just bump, for the contest.

Here's some pre-made brushes (zip file straight from Russell Brown's site,)
click (http://www.russellbrown.com/images/tips_downloads/NagelHairBrushes.abr.zip)
... and here's a tut on how to make 'em.
Look for the one called 'Creating Digital Hair.'

Honestly it's mostly just dot patterns. The brushes I use for hair look like this...
