I think this is the right word, conversion. I have sent an .ai & .eps logo file to a local printer for print on a t-shirt. However the printer is using Corel 9. They can't seem to use the files I've sent. I thought I would try to open these files on Corel 8 on my PC. But whenever I try to open them on the PC, the program (Corel) crashes. (No surprise there).

I am wondering if there is something in Illustrator that I have to do to makes these files more compatible.

Wow Dave, very informative link! Thank you :)!

I've tried sending a modified eps. We'll see if it works. Thank you for your time Dave!

I am using Ill. 10. I am just so ignorant as to what file should be converted to what, that I let Illustrator use it's defaults when saving.

Okay when you save an EPS, choose v8 from the drop down menu. Generally v8 files are the most cross-software compatible. But, this means transparency gets flattened when saving. So you'll what to reopen the file after saving it as a v8 eps file and look for elements which may have been rasterized due to transparency in the file. Then, return to the v10 file and adjust the transparency issues.

I can't remember if v10 had window > Flattener Preview or not. If it does that will help you see what's going to be effected when the file is flattened for v8.

Thanks Jolt. I do remember flattening all the transparencies. Yes, v10 has a preview for doing this. I set vectors to 100% and converted all stokes to outlines. (Did this part in the last file I submitted) Haven't heard yet if it will work for them. If not I'll check the v8 stuff.
