something that ..... raised money or was of benefit for a worthwhile charity, was fun for the participants and of benefit to someone directly or indirectly .... a sponsored clean up of a nature reserve, painting the houses of a bunch of old folk, using your skill to produce something for free that is normally expensive to purchase ....

Not running for miles or sitting in a bath of custard or eating vast quantities of food.

That's tough. What type of budget are we talking? I mean, if i was given unlimited funds i would sponsor something that helped people, cure for cancer contest with top doctors and scientists i guess.

Now if we're talking about small time, like what I could afford, it would be different. I can't afford to sponsor much in the way of social benefits, so i'd focus totally on fun. A contest that was super creative and outrageously funny that made everyone that witnessed it say, wow, that claven guy puts together a good show.

It could be anything from a battle of the bands to a PS contest to a scavenger hunt.
