Great morning chuckle, but I'll have to pass to making a bid :)

Am I naive or are there really people willing to spend stoopid amounts of money on crap? There was a Playstation 3 a while back that went for $250,000.
Ahhhhh what's the odd $99m between friends. Anyway thats only about Ł15.42 at current exchange rates ;)
Finding the highest "real" bid must become a nightmare on this kind of thing

Oh yes. People will buy anything. One thing I've noticed though...they'll spend a little more if you write a good story (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3286948469) to go along with it.

It's insane, I tell you! :D
I've tried to sell something on Ebay (UK) a couple of years back, I didn't have any problem with the bids made .... well there was only 1 and it was below the reserve price. Though I did make a few contacts and eventually sold part of what I was offering (okay it was a Time Share (sort of)) to one of the contacts.

I've never sold anything and only bought one thing. Jewels buys and sells quite a bit.

ROTFLMAO!!!
How come i never get this kinda wonga for my junk?!?
This is connected to the whole 'celebrety' obsession the world has these days isn't it?! Now this has become a well known news story folk want to be 'the one who bought THAT wedding dress' to buy their own 30 seconds of fame i suppose! :dunno:
The nearest i got to this kind of thing with my sales on eBay was the guy who bought a pair of boots off me and then stalked me by email for a few days saying i sounded really 'foxy' etc!!! I don't know where he got that impression from, I guess he had some kinda major foot fetish and any waft of my feet left on the boots was really ringing his bell! Eeeeurgh!
You looking to get married again, hon????
Looks like that guy finally figured out half the bids were jokes. Now he's gonna walk away with a serious bid of over $15,000! For that, I'd actually get married.
