Not a software question, but hardware instead.

How would you recommend cleaning an Apple Cinema Display screen?

Linda, I use the little wet wipes that you can get to clean eyeglasses. They are also recommended to clean computer monitors, etc. They work really well.

I use an old duster sprayed with wax furniture polish :what:

Dave- your humor, lol! I think that furniture polish would work just as well as the sneezing attack I had on my poor monitor. (Note the need to clean) Still lmao.

Seriously - I used to have anti-static foam spray and special wipes, I'm not sure they'd be much good on a modern non-glass TFT screen. As long as there's no grease or fibres on the wipe I guess anything would do these days.

Now Jolt, I think you are just making fun of me ;)

Dave may remember this, when I was child the ONLY time I ever saw my father scold my mother was when she would attempt to move his TV or clean the screen. He had a whole list of technical ( I am sure it was all bull*&#$) reasons as to how you were to touch his beloved TV. Hey Dave! Remember the big whine when you were the one who had to change the channel?

So now, in my old age.... the paranoia persists when it comes to anything with a screen.

Attempting to move a TV in my early days was one way of getting a double hernia. The TV we have now is huge and weighs in at 65 kilos (143lbs). At least cleaning them has gotten simpler with anti-static dust sprays & cloths.

We did without remote controls a lot longer than you in the USA and we didn't have that many channels until satellite came along.

ldg;
Send it to me and I'll clean it and get it back to you in the next year.
Those displays are wicked.

On my little brood of Macs I use the iKlear Cleaner and Polish;
good stuff and it goes a long way.
Have even seen it in the drug stores that are selling iPod stuff lately.

From an IT point of view, all the special cleaners and wipes are great. If we got caught short, or happened to have to work for someone very cheap, we would use window a mild cleaner and decent quality kitchen roll.
The usual warnings, try at your own risk and all that. Just spray some onto the towel (not the screen) and wipe gently. If it's yours and dear to you or your "own" pocket book, spend the extra few pennies and buy some wipes.
