please help, I can't use my pc anymore when I'm connected (tv cable connection) the song seems to remain the same since I rebooted the whole computer losing a lot of stuff
(lsass.exe is the major suffering file, but the main problem is that everything runs ok untill I put that ethernet cable in after lauching explorer (can't launch before), then, I gain access to the web but nothing else is reachable anymore). Another silly prog is redonding "regpatch or something trying to make me buy their product)... Help please, I'm out of force, I tried all week-end rebooting, setting options, ... kicking the wall...

Sounds like a nasty spyware is installed to me. Do you have Ad-Aware? Its a program that scans your computer for spyware and has tools to remove it. It is free here (http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-SE-Personal-Edition/3000-8022_4-10399602.html?tag=lst-0-1)
I hope this helps.

Else try the house doctor (http://uk.trendmicro-europe.com/consumer/housecall/housecall_pre.php) for a virus scan and debug.

This is a great one:
Spybot Search and Destroy (free) http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html

I just feel so damn sorry for your plight. I'm sure most of us have been there. Cant get some damn thing to work. The repeated reboots, running utilities repeatedly. Trying everything, then trying everything again. And there go hours and hours full of frustration.

Good luck Swillox. We've all rooting for you.

Where's the smilie for a shoulder rub?

Pfff, thanks to all your good advices, and encouragements, I think I can say I'm back on the web know... I sued this three last days nukin the unbelievable amount of spywares and other dialers that passed thrue.. even norton wasn't able to detect them... Spybot, a buffer overrun patch from microsoft and Error nuker seems to be the ones that saved what's left from my PC...

I also like to encourage anyone to careffuly read and print for further need the "what to do in case of infection" http://www.viruslist.com/en/viruses/encyclopedia?chapter=153280800 (link originally provided by Dave, thx Dave) before they begin counterstriking anything (I did panic and jumped over a few steps wich resulted with the lost of many files(hopefully I don't leave my pics on the same PC and backup them all on cd's).

Voilą, ... I opted for firefox now, dunno, explorer doesn't inspires me in trust anymore (I can't uninstall and does'nt show in list of programs when asking).

Pfff... still a lot to install...

So thanks again y'all, hoping it's cured for long now... everything seems to be stable at this point except me, I need some rest, my eyes are flickering...

thx
