Okay, hopefully my last question for the day ;)!

Is there a shortcut for activating the direction handles? Currently I go to select>object>directions handle. All very laborious if you ask me....

That's a good news, I was just planning to make a tutorial about it but tought it would'nt be interesting enough... but forget for a while ldg, making an action is not an appropriate here
(got a very badly translated photosh.. have to learn to check what sub forum I'm in before posting). Jolt' right, selection arrow is the tool.

I have and do use the direct selection tool. Sometimes it works, other times just moves the whole image. I am sure a precision click is what I lack.

To be honest.. I didn't even know you could use the menu to select the curve handles :)

Leave it to me to find the longest, hardest way to the simpliest things...

Just wanted to update this, since I can't imagine I am the only person in the whole world who can't get those teenie-tiny anchor points selected and keep them selected.

I have found that I can do this easily (now) while the "direct selection tool" is selected, I just press shift/click on any of the anchors and it is then movable. If I lose the selection (as I stated always happens to me) I just shift/click again. This is for Mac, no idea for windows.

yes, you found out that when you select one point at a time with the white selction arrow, the handles will appear. Further more, when you select the white arrow and select another tool, eg the pen tool, the white select ion arrow will appear when you click and hold the command (apple) button.

Nb: can anyone tell why one would like to see all direction handles at the same time of an object? Jolt? I indeed never ever saw or used the action ldg described in the first post.

I have no clue why one would need to select all direction handles at once. It would, however, be nice to be able to select two or more in order to symmetrically adjust something... someday... someday.. until there there's the Xtreem path plug in.

I am waiting since I used illustrator for a TOOL that allows you to resize the DISTANCE between objects - so like you were resizing objects but then only the space between them.
I used to work in the old days with slidetek and that had this ability. It was so handy for symmetries and other things, I've missed it ever since they went bankrupt....

thx for the reply

What I do is have the Pen Tool selected. Hold down Command which turns the pen into the white arrow (Direct Selection Tool). Now you can click any point and its handles appear, you can drag the handles, or you can drag the point itself.

I was having that problem with moving the whole picture, but now I can't remember why.
