Chopped .ai to .jpg

Why, when I save my .ai files and then open in PS (7) and save as a .jpg, does the image get chopped off at any random far (outer) edge?

Is this just a PS7 issue?

It's something with Ai to PS.. easiest fix is to draw a box, unfilled unstroked around all the artwork in AI. Or copy > Paste from AI to PS.

I don't use ps to make jpg's from illustrator, save for web is ever so clever.

When you use save for web > jpg etc. be sure to check the box that says "clip to artboard" It is under the tab "image size". it now make a jpg that is as large as you document.
