HmmmmÖthe art thing???? Well, I graduated college in 98 so you could say I started professionly since then. I've always done something though, whether it was drawing album cover art on the back of my school book covers or taking art ellectives in high school.
I deal about 80% in print work (anything from ads to massive tradeshow setups). I also do a little multimedia and web (art direction not programming). I've bounced around different small-to-midsized agencies and such but thrive on my freelance. So all in all (combined with my photoshop illustrations) I have a pretty good book.
How about you? I akways used to think (from the user name) that you were an entity of people, not just one :)

I've got mine!! :beer2:
Actually, www.perezdesigngroup.com is an entity of 2. It's my brother and I. My brother and Jolt would probably get along famously since both are avid Mac and Illustrator fans.
My brother was quickly banned at W for speaking his mind a little to well and writing extremely accurate critiques. Some people couldn't handle them and complained and he got the boot after telling off every admin that had the balls to write him.
I've been doing this since I can remember but I went off track in high school. I recently got back on track about a year ago after nearly a decade of working in sales, banks and other retail outlets. Photoshop amazed me but I still love drawing the good ole fashioned way (http://art.smugmug.com/Art/13961). This IT/networking job is very forgiving and offers me time to produce art. The freelance has been good, and I'm building a base quickly.
I chose PerezDesignGroup because it makes clients feel a little more comfy knowing there's 2 of us. Maybe someday there'll be more ;)
I'm just glad I got out of sales. If I ever sell anything else, it's gonna be my skills and pieces. I'm tired of seeing people sell $250,000 yearly then earn $18,000 with no raise. Something innately wrong with it imho.

Hell no! I won't let him  He'll probably be the 1st to get banned. He is soo brutally honest about critiques that few will understand. Then again, he's the reason I've grown so much artistically. Here...check out his comments to understand...

Edit: I love the way the system blocked that out. Schwing!

That stuff from revelations is f...ing awesome!

Thank ya! I tried finding all the original quotes but some proved too difficult to locate.
I used a Batik style for most of the paintings. I would draw in crayon (don't laugh) and then wash over with acrylics. Since the wax in the crayon kept the color off I was able to achieve some interesting effects. And it was very fun, too.

I thought "AWESOME!" then for all it's simplicity, it was so powerful!
Ha look me an art critic! :)
Please don't get offended at my very amateur ravings.

Never...you're too funny. Actually it's far from a Death Angel. I remember she was this really sweet girl that always wore really baggy clothes to art class. The teacher told her to get up there and pose and she didn't know what to do. All of a sudden, she breaks out into this Halloween "I'm gonna spook ya!" pose and I got to work quick. That square thing on the front of her was her Walkman. I love the fact that I remember paintings and drawings more vividly than photographs. So much more goes into it I guess. That was the drawing I had to replace since the other one got DQ'd. Silliness I say.

So it's a "death angel with walkman" then. See, now you've told me it's ruined my perception of it :)
