I need some help with my computer its been acting up since last week and its getting worse. i can't seem to find what the problem is. every time i turn on my computer then start using applications like photoshop or whatever the computer screen becomes blue,blurred and jittery and there is a bunch of lines running vertical on the screen and i can know longer see the desktop. just this blue screen with lines in it. i checked for viruses using nortons and even used several free online scans like mcaffee, trend micro and panda. but know viruses were detected. i even checked for root kits but still didn't find anything. i even checked for spyware. has this happen to someone else before? i have looked on microsofts knowledge base but didn't see anything. gotta go computer acting up again. will check back later.
using windblows 2000 on pc.

it could be a memory problem....on my old PC a few years back (before i converted to macs) i used to have a bunch of problems with it, including something similar to that and it was basically a memory problem.

IT could be a bad video card or bad monitor. I don't knowhow you'd check those unless you have a different monitor you can try or take the video card somewhere to be tested.

Have you tried degaussing the monitor? It may help, and it is just a pushbutton on most newer monitors.
..... and get rid of Windows 2000, XP works fine

it could be that this computer is almost 6 years old. i might have to take it to the shop next week..
