I do not know about the rest of you, but I cannot tell you how many times I have gone to a 4th of July fireworks celebration with my camera expecting to get some great shots only to come home with grainy or dark and boring pics. So I had a wonderful idea. Why not ask the pros at pixeladdiction.com for some advice!!

Anybody wanna tackle this? Maybe a few pointers for the P&S crowd, and a few more in depth suggestions for the DSLR types. This could also spawn a 4th of July photo fireworks contest!! Granted our friends overseas may miss out on the opportunity to snap some fireworks photos, and I am sorry about that (I am a closet firebug. Love fire, fireworks, and the like).

If no tutorial then how about a few pointers?

Give me a few days and I'll slap something good together for you. How about a general night photography tutorial :)

Whatever works best for you. I want to take superb fireworks shots, and I know I am horrible at it. Any closer you can get me to 'superb' is greatly appreciated.

That I would appreciate -- in your spare time, of course. :cool2:

Hey Guys,

Things are getting kinda tight for time so I'm going to throw you these sites that will help you these are going to cover night shots in general and firework photography, so pick the pieces that will help you the most.

Shoot everything in RAW if you can. It's going to allow you more play in post processing.

Here are some links

I understand the time constraints issue. Considering I just spent the entire week preparing for college finals, I can sort of relate. Thanks for the info. I am going to practice tonite.
