How much faster than "instantly" can I observe, it's whether they stay changed that matters isn't it?

Well waht I'm seeing is... if you read a forum then click the forum link at the top inteh navbar.. the read/unread status updates. But. if you read a forum in a new window. then refresh a window with the forum home displayed things still show unread.

I think this is probably as good as it's going to get. :)
