Create a duplicate of the background as a new layer and simply change the mode to Multiply then copy merge the layers and save as a new file. That got rid of it for me using PSP7, I can't explain that in Photoshop though.

Create a feathered selection in the center of the image. Inverse to select corners. new color balance adjustment layer, lower the green, increase red and blue. Then with same selection with a levels adjustment layer to darken the corners to match the rest of the image.

This is a pretty bad photo to begin with. Dark and grainy for this reason i wouldn't use a multiply blending mode in Photoshop. That would just darken it up more.

Another option:
Make a very feathered selection of the corners and other areas that have the same problem.
Use Image>Adjustments>Replace Color. Click on the green in the corner then use the plus eyedropper to add more green areas. Lower the saturation completely to remove the green, then lower the Lightness to make it darker.

PS I also ran the new Reduce Noise filter at the default settings
