"Filter Gallery

Applying various filters to layers in Photoshop opens a world of creativity to photographers and designers. Next time you are feeling the need to experiment, open the Filter Gallery.

Try adding Effects Layers within the gallery. They can be added with the new effects layer icon on the bottom right side of the gallery. Change the effect on each layer.

Then try this:
Keep all the effects layers visible. Watch the results when you highlight a lower layer and move the adjustment sliders for that lower layer. The combined effects are different than what you would see using separate layers in the Layers palette with different filters and layer modes applied.

Try this for more possibilities:
Click and drag the Effects layers one above the other inside the Filter Gallery dialog box. Each time you change the layer order, you change the look.
