I followed this wonderful tutorial of Jolt and I got stuck on page 3 just right after I changed the setting in the Channel Options (as noted) & clicked OK

The problem is after I hit OK, I didn't see "the channel inverts and what's white becomes black" as noted in the tutorial. I don't know what I did wrong. I followed it really closely & lost right at this step

Any help to get thru this would be very much appreciated :)

Hi k1m,
when you get to that step, if you don't see the channel invert then hold down Command (Mac) or Control (PC) and type an "i". The channel should inverts.

It's simply a photoshop thing.. it remembers whatever your last setting was.

It works, Jolt. Thanks for your prompt reply.

Another one for you :p -
On page 4, after you turned the red channel visible (together with Channel Selection), the figure looks grayscaled over the light red background but when I turn on my red channel, it doesn't look grayscaled but red filled the figure. I can spot the figure out from the background but it's a bit difficult. Why is that mine doesn't look like yours (grayscale like I mean) ? Is there something else that I have to do ??

Thanks for your tutorial, the outcome came out beautifully :)

You may be seeing the mask .... I don't use photoshop so I don't know for certain.

Hi K1m,

Be certain to click the RGB channel first, then turn on the visibility for the alpha channel. Basically you want all 4 channels to have the visibility on. That way you'll see the regular image along with the red indicator of the mask.

Thank again Jolt. Although it still doesn't look like yours but it's better, I can tell the border between the background & the figure now :)
