I'm in need of some things. I need Illustrator, Quark XPress, Corel Draw, and 3D Studio Max or other similar programs. Here's the catch, I need older versions of these programs - nothing from this year. I want to familiarize myself with programs but I don't want to pay through the nose to do so. I don't need to become an expert with them either, just get a general feel for how they work and what they can do. So if you have any older versions of these (not too ancient so as to be obsolete either,) let me know and we'll work out an arrangement.
AdvTHANKSance, 1-9 :)

Of course, Jolt. An e-bay type of thing. I want the original disc with all documentation from the company; home-made copies will not do. ;)

I wasn't implying anything.. just stating rules for everyone. I know you're on the up and up 1-9.

The party of the first part (namely 1-9) did not mean to imply that he (or she) inferred any implication on the part of the party of the second part (namely (_|_), the artist formerly known as Jolt) with regards to the aforementioned statement of his {(or her)1-9's} desire for aquisition of said computer applications. ;) ;)
Besides, I'm sure they'd be easy to come by at some p2p site, but I'm more a garage sale type of guy (read: cautious cheapskate.) :)
ps- Thanks for checking, Chris.
pps- What's with the change, Jolt? Are you mooning us with your name, or beans for breakfast, perhaps? :jk: Nice av!

Do you have a large college anywhere near where you live? You might want to try that. I know a few people who were able who were able to buy these programs from a college in my town with an education discount.

I live in a college town, and I so happen to have a college ID (I graduate KU this July). I do not think it will help much, tho. Most places here (i.e. Best Buy) only have things like Windows and microshaft (er, soft) products available for student discount. I can check if anyone is that desperate.

if you have a university near by, you can typically bribe a student to get it for you. I got 3dstudio 3 (dos) bundled with AutoCAD 12 (dos and windows) for about 350 some 10 years ago.

Educational is the best way to go. You can also find some cheap Wacom tablets that way also.
