I came across these when reading through a more in depth manual on my new camera. From what it says it can be applied to any Canon DSLR that you are able to modify shooting parameters on, but it may work for others so here they are

Create a hazy or Cloudy day setting
This makes the camera capture more contrasts and color on days that contrast and color are weak. Bump the contrast and color slider by 1 or 2 bumps- experiment to see which is best for your camera.

Portrait Setting
This setting favors skin tones, reduce contrast slider by 1 bump and increase Saturation slider by 1 bump. This is going to vary between skin tones, so give it a few shots at different settings.

Create a Velvia (an intensely colored slide film) look
Increase contrast slider by 2 bumps, Sharpness slider by 1 bump, and Saturation slider by 2 bumps.

I'm going to give these setting a shot this weekend I let you know how they do.

Yep,

I tried two of three, and what I got were really good results. It was sunny all weekend so I didn't use the Hazy setting

The best result was using the Velvia setting. It gave really rich colors and made erverything "pop" in the picture.

The potrait setting did well, but I did have to play around with the settings a little bit to get what I wanted. I took a headshot of my wife who has an olive skin tone and it looked a little to green for some reason, so I tweaked the white balance, and brought the saturation back down and it looked much better.

Thanks, i will try the velvia settings myself when i have the time.
Usely i shoot with all setting standard and with C1 i developpe the file.
This way i can see directly what happens.

OK, so I finally had a day where I could try out the Create a hazy or Cloudy day setting and it work great. Has anyone else tried using these settings on their camera??
