I posted a resume on Monster.com months ago just for giggles. it's a valid resume and the information is all correct I just never expected much of a return at all. Most of those "job" sites have been fairly unproductive for me even during the times I've really tried to make them work.

So.. I'm sitting here working this morning and low and behold my phone rings. It's a call from a national company with a local office here and they happened to see my resume on Monster and want an interview immediately. Color me surprised. No telling if the job is worth-while yet. I won't know until I meet with them. But it completely caught me off-guard to have an employer seek ME out for a change :)

That's awesome you deserve it. There's no hiding how hard of a worker you are, this site is a testament to that. Congrats

Some job sites are a real gold mine, you never can tell, others are not worth the air they breathe. Get your resume on as many as you can that deal in your job sector and desired location, you never know which one will pay off.

Good luck with this one!

Congrats, Jolt, on the opportunity - not one, but two pluses - A job opportunity, and a bright, shiny new dental job to go with.

I might also mention there are 2 sites I know of where you might put info out there - They are international (as far as I know) but you can search, right down to your own zip code, and many put their resumes on these as well - take a look -- Hope it works out!

Oi oi, some people have all the luck. I am posting my details daily - it's been a full-time job for the past 3 months and still nobody wants me and my 'talents' :)

Congratulations Jolt, if I were a big boss I'd hire you!

Hmmm..what a coincidence. My brother was also called yesterday from posting his profile at Monster. Congrats... but be careful. I'm always on the lookout for those Amway dudes.

Funny.. I get spam from monster asking for sales associated for various insurance companies. THe company that called me is an insurance company.... I'm really hoping they wouldn't go so far as ask for an interview when my resume is so obviously strong in one career path. But the thought has crossed my mind.

Well I just got a call from an agency wanting me to do lecturing in book-keeping and accountancy .... he soon realised he was barking up the wong tree there!

If it walks like a duck, smells like a duck, sounds like a duck, and tastes like a duck. It's a duck.

What a ****in waste of my time. Completely unethical and inconsiderate and I let them know that.

Well, my brother's gig turned out to be legit. Hopefully they'll be calling today to offer him a job. They showed him a list of resumes that was nealy 2 inches thick that had rejected. This gave my brother a much needed morality boost. *crossing fingers

Monster.com is getting to be well known for trolls and spam and all sorts of things like that. Hope things go well.

Oh well Jolt, at least you have a job now, would be worse if you were unemployed and getting your hopes up...maybe next time.
