View Full Version : Small glitch?

I checked the forums this morning, and was surprised to find none of them highlighted. Pretty unlikely with the Brits and Austrians already up for 6 hours or more. So I checked the most commonly added to links and found that several posts had many additions I hadn't read.

A question: I wanted to use the smilie carrying a sign where you can put your own text on the sign yesterday. I had been going to the "Testing Testing" forum where you originally posted how to do it, but all the posts except the last one were gone. Are the directions to make that sign somewhere? I suppose I should write it down, but than I'd have to remember where I put it.

BTW. I'm using Safari as my browser if that has anything to do with the highlighting glitch.

I had asked Jolt about the 'mark read' glitch and he told me to check 'Today's posts'. It works better although sometimes they're not updated either (but it does work a little better.)

The 'glitch' is unfortunate. There's little I can do about it right now. Using the Today's Posts link should always turn up threads or posts made that day though.

As for the sign smilie... Directions can be seen by clicking the "vB code is on" link at the bottom left of the page. it's basically [ sign ]The text you want inserted[ /sign ] (remove the spaces). The text you want inserted

Like this?
Coooool !!
So how many characters can you fit into one of these tiny boxes, I wonder? Maybe I'll get my answer by just typing, and typing, and typing, and typing until Jolt tells me to stop fooling around. No sign of him yet, though (heheheh) so away I go typing 'till my fingers fall off one by one. I'm starting to get blisters already. I don't know how long I can keep this up. I wonder if Jolt is watching me type all this nonsense. If he is, he isn't saying anything; maybe he wants my fingers to fall off. Wouldn't that be horrible, I mean how would you click your mouse? Geez, I'd have to get a tablet, after all (but how would I hold the pen?) I know a guy who lost most of his toes due to frostbite, although, I don't think it affected his computer skills at all. But he does tend to fall down a lot. Then again he is quite a drinker. He likes Mai Tai's with an umbrella and a slice of grapefruit. Bit of a weirdo, if you ask me. That reminds me, maybe I should call him and see how he's doing. He just recently moved away from the mountains and bought a farm on the Canadian prairies. I guess he was afraid of falling off a cliff. Can't say that I blame him, really. It must be dangerous to walk up a steep mountain trail not knowing if or when your next step will send you careening down a steep slope. One advantage to losing your toes is that you can share shoes with your wife, although I can't really understand why he enjoys wearing her spectator pumps. Maybe it makes him look taller. He's only 4'10" tall so I guess I can see why he needs the extra inches. Like I said, he's a bit of a weirdo anyways. Maybe I won't call him, after all. No sign of Jolt yet... dum dee dum dee dum dum dee dee dum ... Boy my fingers are really starting to get sore, maybe I should take a break. I can always edit later, I guess.
How cool is this...or this,or even this?

Check todays image of the day ... I'm really really proud of that.

If I keep practicing and keep learning I might beat Jolt one day .... (and pigs might fly!) :)

I've been wondering how this little trick was done. I'm glad I checked out this thread.

There's always something new to learn.
