At work the IT department has been looking into security issues and have been reimaging the office computers. Last week my computer was reimaged and all my files put back in place. Well little quirks and bugs are expected and have been happening. (Don't even get me started on the helpdesk or the reimaging. They upped us to XP and installed W2K drivers the first time around on my machine. Needless to say a few things didn't work.) One quirk that is really bugging the p'diddle out of me is I have not been able to drag and drop an image from the browser into photoshop. Is this a feature I can readily turn on without administrative rights and without calling the helpdesk? I don't know where to begin to look for a switch. Is it a browser feature or a ps feature? Where is it? Could someone help me?

It's generally an OS feature Happy.
I get that too Happy, I cannot drag an image from a webpage into PSP, it tells me it doesn't recognize the filetype (that's silly) but I can in Firefox right click on the image save it to the clipboard and the paste it into PSP.
I can drag and drop images into or between files without any problem.
I can't find an option that prevents/allows this. I'm looking through the settings ....

Ahhhhhhhhh I think I got it .....
drag and drop in XP is a move function not a copy function (unless it's to another disk drive) that might be the problem.
To copy the item instead of moving it, press and hold down CTRL while dragging.
try that ....
Also look up ClickLock in your help function.

I can save the images I just can't drag them. (I would drag possible source pics and then close them without saving if I wasn't going to use them that why I wouldn't be using disk space because I probably would never delete them.) I'll figure it out somehow. It was probably shut off due to security reasons but I want it back. (need a stomping my foot smiley)

Dang - IE Internet Options - Security tab - custom levels - drag and drop files - disabled - need administrative rights to change to enable - dang have to call helpdesk :cuss: maybe I'll either save or copy and paste. :irk:

No, actually, it will be done remotely. They will assign me administrative rights for the time it takes to make the two clicks and then take the rights away again.
