Would like some critiques on this if you would please (: The lion is one image and the waterfall another. I was just playing around in pshop putting images on top of one another and 20 minutes later i had this. Just used a layer mask so the edges arent perfect imo. Desaturated it and colored the eyes somewhat close to there original color. I also used find edges then lowered the opacity to around 15% on luminocity mode for a painting affect.

Thanks alot everyone,

OC.............

Actually. it looks like a very good masking job to be OC. No hard edges or obvious flaws.

Great image!

Did you colorize that? I'M AMAZED!

2nd pic - there's a line through the lions head inline with the base of the waterfall and you can see the water through the top rear of his mane and IMO the lions face and mane needs some more brown & gold colours.

I really like the color version. And I like the way the lion is a little desaturated a tad. It gives a "mood" to the image. I don't see the line Dave's referring to. The only thing I'd do is grab the sponge tool and desaturate the very top of the lion's main to get rid of the green tint up there.

Thanks Dave, the line you mentioned is probably an area i didnt concentrate enough on. Something i need to get into the practice of when working on bigger files. The color version is the orginal with a saturation boost. I wish i could colorize anywhere near that good (:

BTW burndog, if your reading this that one you did for the contest looks so real i wouldnt know the difference. Excellent skills my friend.

Thanks again all!!

oc.........

Yeah i noticed that to Jolt, well just now anyway (: Thanks!!

Those are awsome works OC,

Have you thought about trying the lions eyes in a icy blue color. I think that would look really cool in the B&W version.

Terrific, ...

I would'nt have colorize the water yellow, and his legs are somewhat too clear.

but hey!...
