Ok, I have about 1000 hours in photoshop, and 30min in illustartor. So basically I'm a n00b. I am getting obsessed with vectors though, and want to make them. I just can't figure out how to change the brush size. I have the warp tool out and it's huge.
Hold down ALT then click+hold the left mouse button and move the mouse to reshape the tool. In addition if you add SHIFT to the held down keys then you can also resize the tool.

Thanks Dave!
edit, when I hold alt, it truns my pencil tool into the smooth tool.
My problem is, I can't find the box to change the brush size. I think it's under window/??? I don't know.
Thank Google :)
Additionally .....
If you'd like to be more precise with the size you make it you can always just double-click on the icon in the toolbox to bring up it's preset dialog box.

oh the stroke thing is at the bottom of my color box. I see it now. I'll try the double click too. Thanks again.
Try using the [ and ] keys or the CTRL+[ and CTRL+] combo. It's one of those I believe. Once I fire up Illustrator I'll confirm.
For all I know it could involve squeezing two freshly peeled Martians ..... :)

The warp tool is changed by holdignthe alt key.. click and drag.
Brushs are changed by stroke size.
the [ and ] keys dont' do anything for brushes in Illustrator.
Oops :) [] works in Painter and Photoshop though :D

Thanks a lot guys. That warptool advice really helps jolt. I was beginning to wonder if there WAS no way to change it.
I've incountered another problem. I know there's a simple solution, but thirty minutes of searching turns up nothing.

I'm trying to even the black path with the brown one. Isn't there a tool that allows you to drag an edge and even it up without dragging the whole path?
Help still appreciated. :) Waaaaah, I'll get the hang of this, I promise. ;)

The white arrow (direct select tool) will allow you to select just an edge or a node. It can be difficult to line up shapes with strokes. I generally switch to artwork mode (Command/control-y) to line up paths because you can see the actual path without any appearance applied.
You can also select more than one node and hit command/control j to bring up the average dialog which will allow you to align two or more nodes automatically.

Aw yes! Bless you Jolt ;) I think I might actually be able to do a basic vector image now. (Then I'll move up and take over the world.)

Alrighty, I pressed something when attempting to press CTRL y. Now it screws with my layers and gives me that little blue line and helps me "trace" my paths. Seems little, but is getting in the way, and I don't know how to get rid of it.

Looks like you turned Smart guides on by pressing ctrl+U. Go to View -> Smart Guides (uncheck it).
