Welcome to the Cage Match arena. This forum is where you can challenge or accept a challenge for a one-on-one match. On occassion, a Cage Match can have more than two competitiors. The details of each match are determined by the competitors. Once an opponent(s) is determined, details for the match will be thrashed out in a thread specifically for that match. Once match details have been established and agreed to by participating players, a contest will be set up by an admin, according to the rules set forth by the participants.
Preferably, in the first post of your thread, please include the following information for Cage Matches:
- Participants?: (someone vs. someone)
- Type of Contest: (photoshop,photography,illustration,etc.)
- Theme or Description: (Details and Descriptions)
- Submission Time? (When do entries need to be done by?)
- Will Participant's Vote? No, participants will not vote
- What are the stakes? (losatar, bragging rights, etc.)
Finally, once all the details have been determined, edit your thread title that the Cage Match is 'ready for setup'.
Once the match is posted it will be visible on the home page of Pixel Addiction under the Cage Match header. The contest will remain there until voting has ended, and will then be moved to the Past Contests Archive. The winner of the match will have a Cage Match trophy placed on their Contest Stats page at the close of the contest.
There are very few "set" rules regarding Cage Matches:
- Entry fee for a Cage Match is 10 credits, with Jackpot being 20 credits. (If you wish to alter this in anyway, please PM an admin with your request before posting in the forum thread.)
- Entries MUST be created within the cage match time frame. For example, you cannot set up a cage match for an image you already have ready to go. This creates an unfair advantage over the other participants in the match. Your entries must be created within the submission start date and the submission end date.
- Remember, if you accept a challenge by another member, you are obligated to fulfill your committment to that challenge...by the deadline established by the rules of your match. Don't accept a challenge and back out at the last minute. Be sure you are prepared to go through with your match BEFORE you agree to it.
- Another thing...site upload restrictions/guidelines are expected to be adhered to in Cage Matches as well. Be sure to read those guidelines regarding what is or isn't considered appropriate for uploading.
- Voting on the Cage Match will be open for a two day period. Please note that participants will not vote on their cage match.
To the members enjoying being a spectator to a Cage Match, remember that when voting on a cage match, please look first at the rules established by the participants, especially looking for specifics about their contest. If the contest is based more on humor, you should vote accordingly. Otherwise, vote according to the regular Site Guidelines. Participants should also maintain the anonymity of their entries until the match has concluded. Voters...vote each image on its own merits. Quality above all else...unless otherwise specified in the match rules.
Lastly, and most importantly...have fun!
