I was editing an image and discovered something pretty neat - it may be common knowledge to some but for those that don't know....
The patch tool can be used with any selection, you don't have to draw it with the tool itself, which can be a bit hit and miss. I used it to remove text from a sign, just select with the magic wand, etc. and then switch to the Patch Tool - instant removal with minimal fuss!
I hope you were wearing protective goggles and gloves when you did that :D
This sign was patched by Trinity

Click and hold the healing brush icon in the toolbox, the patch tool is the one that looks, well, like a patch :)

Patch tool works like an irregular clone stamp. Draw an outline on any image with the patch tool, then click and hold inside the selection to drag it to another place. It will copy the selection onto the new location within the same layer. Works well on clouds etc. Unlike the clone stamp, it will also blend the selection, but I'm not sure how to change the blend modes for this tool. Anyone...?
