hello everyone, i dunno if this is eligible with the cage match rules but i hope it is.
as you all have noticed, im not really active at these forums anymore, so i decided that i would give away all my credits to whoever could help me out with this thing.
you see, i play a game called outwar, and i have a crew(clan-ow calls them crew, they are silly) i can make a pic myself, but i know alot of people here are better than me.
there are some things you must know:
maximum size:450x600(or i cant use it)
maximum file size:15kb(another reason i dont make it meself, cant make it that small)
crew name: •DEATH•
how i want it:whatever you think seems fitting
submission time:1 week from whenever it starts
type:whatever you like
will participants vote:YES

remember all can be in this:)

It's a shame you're not as active here as before. This sounds like a good idea, it is a little unusual but it could produce some good entries - keep your credits though!

Hey Twistedcliffdog. I can't speak for everyone but I did notice you haven't been active lately. I just figured school was keeping you busy.

Though your offer is nice, you cannot give away your credits to other members.

Twistedcliffdog

cant i submit 65 credits as a jackpot to the contest?

EDIT:
oh, and it havnt been to much school, more that my favorite computer game si going to WCG this year, and me wanting to qualify:)

You can't offer to pay someone 65 credits to do the work for you. You can sponsor a contest in the cage match area and offer your credits to the winner. In order to have a cage match you would need 2 participants to agree to be in the match.

Twistedcliffdog
02/03/2005, 07:28 PM
aha, so atleast 2 people must say they will submit.
anyone?

Dave

I'm not even sure what you want other than its a picture of maximum dimension of 450x600 but a filesize so small it's nearly impossible to do anything at all, is that right?

Twistedcliffdog
02/03/2005, 07:40 PM
yes, and its not impossible, just hard, here are some who did it!

Entries must be a minimum of 500 pixels wide for Pixeladdiction contests.

Twistedcliffdog
02/04/2005, 01:45 AM
that is for cagematches aswell? i think i have seen/submitted some under 500 wide, and in cagematches they were accepted!
that is for cagematches aswell? i think i have seen/submitted some under 500 wide, and in cagematches they were accepted!
Images that are under 500 pixels wide are stretched when uploaded to meet the 500 pixel wide minimum...which results in some VERY pixellated images. We HIGHLY discourage entries under 500 pixels wide...in ANY contest.

ohh, ok, so i should give up me almost great idea?

jameschino88

Wouldn't it be easier if the contestants just put white space around thier entry?

Twistedcliffdog
02/04/2005, 06:12 PM
yay, go jameschino!
so anyone want to do this?

MrRaven
02/04/2005, 09:18 PM
I wouldnt mind giving it go.

Great thinking jameschino. Pretty simple too. just make the image the size required, then resize the canvas to 500px wide, add a coloured layer under the image then save.

Fancy the challange D Rock?

MrRaven

for me to be able to use it the FILE SIZE of the pic WHITOUT the border must be under 15kb, also it is the pic whitout the border is MAXIMUM 450x600, and please include the •'s (if you dunno how to write them just copy & paste)

TCD - you will need to remove the border. In order to upload to the site, the image must be a minimum of 500 pixel. I included the request for the white border to make it easier for you to remove.

I'll add in that it should be 15kb but you might also need to optimized the file size yourself once the cage match is over.

Twistedcliffdog
02/06/2005, 02:12 PM
yes i know, but it would be sooooooooo much easyer if the winner saved his pic whitout the border as well(as in both save it before the contest) and then upload it when its finished:)

It would be just as easy for you to resize it when the match is over.

Oh they aren't doing it for nothing...you're "sponsoring" the contest with your credits (as you requested early on). You get the images when they're done...but your credits are really being used to sponsor the contest. :)

MrRaven
02/06/2005, 02:25 PM
I was thinking that we could create the image both with and without the border. Submit the bordered image to the contest and the winner can then just add the borderless image to the gallery or send it to Twisted. Its alot easier IMO to add the border once the image is created.

That is very kind of you MrRaven. However, I was not going to make that a requirement to the cage match since TCD knows how to resize and reoptimize images himself.

Yeah, you can do that when it's sponsoring a contest for others to participate in. You aren't participating in it yourself...that's the difference. You're basically contracting for images to be made for you...using our site as a forum for the contest. And it's fine...55 credits will do. We won't charge MrRaven or D Rock an entry fee, and they'll get 20 credits as a jackpot, and the other credits will go to PA for the contest sponsoring. No problems. :)

LOL! Well to be honest, even tho the credits would be appreciated, I'm doing this for the challenge. So however many credits are up for grabs isn't the issue with me :D

U have my OK :)

MrRaven
02/06/2005, 04:20 PM
Just one thing. As long as the submitted image is 500px wide for the entry, does the main image HAVE to be 450x600? As an image this size is hard to compress to under 15k unless it only has about 4 colours. (Unless I'm missing something in the compression method)

Looking at the examples of other crew pictures they are smaller in size (avg 300x250)

Silky
02/06/2005, 04:23 PM
I think he said the MAXIMUM size acceptable is 450 x 600. It's my understanding that the image he uses can be smaller than that (and may well HAVE to be smaller to come under the 15k size.) Just make sure that your entry is at least 500 pixels wide. :)

lol, i cant wait to see what you guys do with it!
its also a war going on in the crew:all leaders have their own pic that is on until the competition is done, rpoblem is we change it all the time cause everyone thinks theirs own:)(mine is currently on)

Wait... so this cage match is designed to make an image for you to use elsewhere TCD? and pass off as your own work?? Not really the point of the site, and honestly if the competitors were not already lined up and working, I'd cancel it. I mistakenly misunderstood the entire intention of this contest. PixelAddiction.com is not a place to get free work done. That is unfair to all artists and takes advantage of everyone. I'll let this slide for now since it's already underway.. but be aware... it's not favored behavior here.

Twistedcliffdog
02/07/2005, 01:04 AM
noooooooo, it will not go as mine work, i will ofcourse send a message to the whole crew and in the profile thanks to (whoever wins) at www.pixeladdiction.com for the pic:) i will not take the credit of it, i hate doing that....

use save for web and adjust the settings to bring it under 15kb!
