Thought I'd post this to give you guys a little chuckle. This is a link to another forum. It's older than ours, has only 11 registered members, and one of the members has a real problem with "lurkers". Go take a look and read the General Discussions area. Some of the posts are hilarious! The lurkers and unregistered guests drive this guy nutso...LOL!

Hmmmmmm nice place ..... seems they've stopped talking since last November. Their Welcome sticky probably explains a lot :)
So do you know 1337? :D
Oooh the smilies have change again! ;) :o :p

I'll look at that later, when my brain is working and the colours don't make by eyes bleed :)
You want paranoid Silky?
We've just been invaded by a Google Spider, whatever one of those is!
:D

No! Google spider is good. It's one of the ways sites make it to search engines.
So we've arrived then. Expecting floods of guests .... :)

Possibly, but we're probably not very high on the list because it's PS stuff and very difficult to make it unique enough to stand out from the rest as far as search engines go.
Gotta remain upbeat and positive :)
Mmmmmm where did that <----- "Postbits" come from?

Might be something to do with the site coding/design process. Maybe they're always there but usually hidden?
Could be, I occassionally view the source code of a page (heaven only knows why!) and I find it very difficult to follow in just notepad format .... probably would do so in my HTML programme as well!

I get lost in the java scripting, although if I looked at it properly, I could sort of understand it.

It's because a couple of references are outside the comments brackets, so it's seeing it as visual text.
<!-- / post #2438 -->Postbits
Most likely happening further up the the code though, as posts are dynamic.
/me finds Java Script easy! ..... HA!
I can just about follow it if I know what it's supposed to be doing in the first place .... apart from the open new window functions I've only ever obtained it from free websites when I've needed it, tweaking the numbers is good fun though :)

I never got into JS, I started out with notepad HTML and then left webdesign for a long period. If I study it, I'll know what it does but as yet, I haven't really needed to.
We had lots of bits of JavaScript on the old Silkenfairy.com website, little floaties and image changers and a super duper drop down top menu .... sigh, happy times!

What was SF.com? Was it the forerunner to SFDesigns?
No it was a totally different site, lots of mainly girly stuff .... well it was Silky's site. It was very cute (in a nice kind of way) and did win a few major design awards and contests.
I think it's where Silky got her passion for PS more than anything when she got into designing snowglobes and then websets. She was damn good at it!

Wow, I wish I'd been there at the time :/
By pure misfortune and a hard drive crash I totally lost my backup of the site just before it was taken down for good .... I've only got a couple of mementos left now ....

It showed up along with an active guest for about 20-30 minutes, instead of saying "Guest" it said "Google Spider" :)

Yeha I've got spider recognition turned on just for that reason :)
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There's a lot missing and sadly most of the great PS stuff on page designs and snowglobes .... and I bet the music doesn't work anymore but .... well I'm amazed!
Thank You!

Oh my! There are tons of memories within those pages. I didn't think I'd ever see any part of it again. Thank you, PDG...as bare bones as it is now, it still holds a very special place in my heart. :)
