Have at it all you creative gurus!!

burndog
01/12/2005, 07:13 PM
well I have added some flowers and a hint of canvas area to get things started. I think this "illustration group effort" round of tennis is going to be a blast.

Oooo....Ldg huddles in the corner awaiting the mighty illustrator sword of the mighty Burndog and Jolt......

WEll, here's my version. It needs some clouds in front of it. I couldn't do it without ruining burndog's clouds.

Palms. Here ya go!

ldg40
01/12/2005, 08:59 PM
Excellent gentleman!!
James, I am sure Burndog would not mind you enhancing the clouds! And the palms! What a great selection! Did you illustrate them or chop?

Oh goodie...this is such fun for an old lady! :jump: (but i gotta admit, inserting these new-fangled smilie things is a cheap thrill for sure!)

burndog
01/12/2005, 10:33 PM
Enhance away, the stuff I did is just to get started.

burndog
01/12/2005, 10:48 PM
I wonder where the new path leads.

I love the vines! You're so good at this.
I've added a mailbox, and satillite dish.
MWAH!
Yes, I realize a mailbox doesn't belong on the shore. So?

burndog
01/12/2005, 11:49 PM
I guess in the middle of some Ilsand paradise you do need a dish. Love the mailbox. I think it is time for this community to grow a bit. I guess we can only grow up or down now.

Couldn't quite figure out what to add...daughter suggested pink flamingos and shadows!

ldg40
01/13/2005, 12:29 AM
What! Burndog you sly dog (no pun intended) I guess I need to revamp.....

burndog
01/13/2005, 12:43 AM
I have never tried to paint water before so here is my best attempt.

ldg40
01/13/2005, 12:50 AM
Awwww Burndog...you win! I revamped w/the new background...and by time I came back you had a new one! I shall return......

ldg40
01/13/2005, 01:44 AM
Lots more room here! But my, my such a small amount of pixels to work with!

burndog
01/13/2005, 09:31 AM
I was hoping for something like that, nice one

burndog
01/15/2005, 01:05 AM
I just noticed the little houses in the distance were back in. I guess this is one of the problems with an illustration type tennis...because edits take a while you can spend time doing something and meanwhile someone else has changed it.

Nice job in adding them back in. great job on those deck chairs, you sure are good at painting small, you must use 1 pixel brushes alot.

ldg40
01/15/2005, 11:34 AM
Well, of coarse I had to put back in those too cute houses! Had to break em up cause the pic was extended in size and lessened in width. Gave up putting the flowers back in.

Think of the REALLY tiny things we could draw if one pixel had soft edges!

burndog
02/11/2005, 11:36 PM
Well it has been a while, but I think this little house needed some life, and since people are too tough to draw, the next best thing is man's best friend.

Now someone needs to add a little pier and a teeny sailboat! :)

OK - tie up another boat - add a few more flowers (starting to look more like a cruise stop or a bed & breakfast) This is great...

ldg40
02/16/2005, 06:58 PM
Wow! Look what has happened to my little house since I've been away! Great job everyone!!:jump:

It is still missing people, ldg40, I think you are one of the few around here that can paint people, I know I can't (hence the dog) have a go at it. Is ther anybody else here that is good at painting people in low-res (antialiasing off works best for tiny pics)

Ha! The only thing I can not draw is people!! Animals give me a run for the money also!! My husband always wants to know why everything I draw is devoid of people. So I throw this challenge back into your court! BTW: Your dog is AWESOME!!

Dave
02/25/2005, 03:27 PM

I remember that lady... didn't the shark get her leg? She must've had it sewn back on.

Great job, sweetie :)

So you're calling me a little nut now? ;)

Dave
02/25/2005, 08:08 PM
So you're calling me a little nut now? ;)
Actually an acorn is a fruit not a nut .....

According to the Oxford English Dictionary, the word acorn (earlier akerne, and acharn) is derived from the word akran (Goth.) which meant "fruit," originally "of the unenclosed land." The word was naturally applied to the most important forest produce, that of the oak. Chaucer spoke of "achornes of okes." By degrees, popular etymology connected the word both with "corn" and "oak-horn," and the spelling changed accordingly.

So I'm saying you're very fruity but important! :)

02/25/2005, 08:20 PM
Hey Silky! She is just perfect!! Super-duper great job!! And made just one pixel at a time!! Why a "pixel" was not created with teenie-tiny drawing in mind is beyond me! Now just you go and give yourself a great big pat on the back!!

burndog
02/25/2005, 11:04 PM
ah, but there is a zoom tool in photoshop remember...gret job Silky, I love here relaxed looking pose.

well, just do not try using the zoom on my people, they are a bit rough, but the guy in the water is fishing for the shark, and the dog looked lonely by himself, so now he has someone to throw a ball for him, and of course with all of that sand, someone has to be making a sand-castle.

...and I think that dog had better be ready to run, as I just noticed how long the guys arms are:)

You put C S Lowrie to shame Burndog! :)

burndog
02/26/2005, 10:47 AM
Sorry Dave, I'm sure your post is humorous, but I don't get it, who is C S Lowrie?

Dave
02/26/2005, 11:46 AM
Sorry Burndog that was L S Lowry (knew I should have checked) .... famous for his paintings of matchstick men (http://hemsidor.torget.se/users/s/squo/Matchstickmen.htm) figures ....

Or .... check out the Status Quo link :)

burndog
02/26/2005, 01:37 PM
Thanks Dave, I would not have got it with L S Lowry either. Yup my people are matchstick people alright, but I think I still ahve a wee way to go.

Status Quo...Pictures of Matchstick Men...what a great tune, and a bit ahead of their time, but only for a short while, I can't think of another tune by them...they must have been a one hit wonder.

Thanks for clearing it up Dave, and I quite like the image you've posted, it's amazing how such basic brush strokes can be so effective.
