That's gonna be tough! Jewels has been uncharacteristically silent these past few days...and TC is busy with work...and I think Trin actually went back to work. Geez...all the big contributors have other things to do...ACK!
I'll do my part though...count on it. ;)

I remember what you're capable of in full flow .... come to that so am I :)
Sorry I'm not a big chatter, guys. I try to spend as much time as possible away from this bloody computer. Especially now that the sun is in full force and walks on the beach are sublime.
I got one of those pedometers to see how many steps I was taking each day. The first day I wore it I only racked up 2000 steps. The 2nd day was better at 5000 and now I'm keeping it steady at about 8-9000.
The recommended bare minimum to stay healthy and stay cardiovascularly fit is 10,000 (about 5 miles per day)! People who wish to lose weight should aim for 12-15,000. Scared me silly I tell ya!

Here i am, here i am!!! *la la la LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA* SHOUT RANT etc!!!
I'm sorry, i went back to work yesterday having had a week off over Easter and had such a crappy day i didn't want to pollute the lovely fresh air here with my rantings about my miserable corporate wage slave existance! I was thinking about you guys while i was slaving away though - imagining you all having much more fun than i was!Hopefully those sorts of days will just be a distant memory when the childminding takes off and i can stay home and play with the kiddies all day, yipeeeee! :)
Please get ready for an incoming Trin who will be landing in pixel land soon to try to numb the pain of the horrible day he's just had...He took a final day off work as he was stilll pretty coldy but decided to go install a PC he's built for someone - one of his private jobs - and it was as a total nightmare, one of those everything-that-can-go-wrong-will-go-wrong days....Was only supposed to take 2 hours tops, but it took over 6 hours in the end...So, the poor darling is not a happy bunny - i'm sure catching up with everyone here will cheer him up though!
*big hugs for Trin for being such a hardworking hubby and all round lovely chap* :)
It's at least 100 miles to the nearest beach from where I live .... and nowhere near warm enough yet! But I think Silky is a huge amount further from a beach than I am and a lot colder too.
Cardio-vascular exercise - It's not the quantity but the quality! 20 minutes good heart pumping action (tired but not knackered) a day for 4 or 5 days out of 7 is plenty enough to keep the doctors away. More than that and you're wasting your time and effort, thats just to keep you fit and healthy. Obviously for weight loss you have to burn more calories than you eat. So step lively there!
Maybe I should tell you about my friend (ex) Peggy from Dallas/Fort Worth who was a child minder .... but I wouldn't want to frighten you too much .... LOL j/k She loved her work and her little charges ;)
I too was in work today, I was getting de-pixilated rapidly!
So go read everything you've missed, have a guess at the pixel poser contest even though they've been answered .... just don't look at the other responses :)

Thanks sweety! Although I'm finding it hard to concentrate, all I can see is Windows XP rebooting and Hard-Drives spinning in front of my eyes! :/

Absolutely right that i cant wait Silky - i've had sa gut-full of working with adults that's for sure - well, with 'Joe Public' anyway! I'm now registered (i.e. have been put through the wringer by local education authority and been approved) to be a childminder and get my first part-time clients next week, but i can't give up the current 'day jobs' yet as i need to work out my notice and also i want to be sure that i have sufficient clients lined up so that Trin and i don't end up any more broke than we already are!
At present i work in a candle shop - think real old fashioned little independent candle-makers - all candles hand dipped from scratch, also fancy hand-carved ones, decorated etc, and also selling candle holders, candle making equiptment, oil burners, essential oils etc etc. We also make candles for weddings - if anyone's really bored and wants a look check out www.weddingcandles.co.uk to see what i mean! When i'm not working there i'm working in another amazing shop that sells fabulous unusual glass ware from beautiufl crystal wine glasses to funky sculptures - all very arty (and expensive!).
Both are lovely shops, my bosses are the nicest people you could ever hope to work for and i've loved learning about the art of candle making (believe me there is a surprising amount to know!) and glass blowing but it's also very hard, surprisingly physical work for a real pittance of a wage...and although many customers are lovely - i've decided retail isn't really me...I love chatting away to new people (bet that surpised ya, huh?!?) but it's amazing the amount of rude, annoying, stressed out people that come through a shop in a day! It also requires me to be very flexible with the hours i work and to suddenly work 6 days a week all day if the bosses go away - which just doesn't fit well with Elise.
Aaaaand (c'mon, this is me, you didn't effect a straight-forward answer did ya?!?) i have a new job lined up making and designing jewellery for a local company that starts in september. So - The Plan is to start working full time as a childminder in a months time, do that until september and then combine the jewllery job with childminding.....So, now you know! :)

Holy cow, Jewels...you are a woman of wide and varied talents! You also sound like a very busy woman....what with working full time and taking care of your daughter and Trin (and we all know how demanding men can be...;)...just kidding, Trin). Your plate seems very very full...and honestly, I really envy you. So you're going to start designing jewelry...let me know when that happens. I LOVE jewelry!! :)
Okay .... so what strange skills do you possess, possibly no longer of any use whatsoever?
Well my first ever job was in a supermarket selling bacon, my boss, one of the old school was a real gem. He taught us lads (I was 15!) how to cut a full side of bacon, removing all the bones with some extremly sharp knives and making the major cuts into joints prior to slicing, we weren't allowed to use the actual slicing machines. ::cough:: That was a lonnnnnggggggg time ago, I wonder if I could still do it? Mind you I'd probably struggle now just lifting the side of bacon out of the refrigerator. (70-130lb of ice cold greasy dead meat)

I can't hold a candle to you can I? :p
Actually bacon's not so bad as it's been drained of most of the blood before it got to the supermarket .... but watching the butchers with the 500lb sides of very bloody beef was .... very provoking!

I don't know about 'talents' more a 'Jack of all trades, Master of none'! It is indeed a busy life!
I've actually just given up working as an out-worker for the jewellry company - i.e. doing all the boring prep work at home then taking it into the workshop for the designer to do the final 'creating' with - as of september, it's her job i take over. It's an unusual type of jewelry - we take real sea shells (and also ivy leaves and feathers)and silver plate them (.33 micron layer of silver as opposed to the usual .3 - these babies are quality and made to last!) then turn them into jewellery. Might sound a bit odd but believe me, it looks gorgeous!
