Hi, all. First night on and trying to find my way around. Found the site through Photoshop User website, am a NAPP member. The site was reommended by Dave Cross. Been at this for almost seven years but until PS 7 it was all a waist of time. CS is even better and I can see myself making small improvements. Currently I am in Chapter 2 of Katrin Eismann's newest book "Masking and Composting". This what I really want to learn. I have her other two books also but after doing the execises I forget most of what I am to do so restoration may not be for me.

Anyway hello to all.

Heya, and welcome! If you're really into photoshopping I'm sure you'll love this site! The admins are very nice and helpful.

A few questions,
Do you find the NAPP usefull? I was just curious because when I looked at their free tutorials online, and I was very unimpressed. Also, their book "Down and Dirty Tricks" (for ps 7) was right next to useless for me. There wasn't really anything to be learned/anything which wasn't already online.
Which NAPP books do you find most usefull?

I don't know if it's ok to talk like this about the NAPP or if PA has a contract with them, so this could get edited by an admin.

There's no contract james, but I think you're comparing what's free on the NAPP site to what's available everywhere else. There is a great deal more behind the doors at NAPP than what's readily available for non-members. NAPP's magazine "Photoshop User" is by far the best source of continued material on Photoshop. And combined with the HUGE discount on MacDesign you can get as a NAPP member you've got two very powerful resources right there. There's a great deal that NAPP isn't going to put out on the web for every Tom, Dick and Harry to grab and use. If they did, what would be the point of membership. It may be very difficult to see the benefit to membership unless you are a member. However, I challenge you to find a single member that isn't pleased with their membership.
