Harsh image

Maybe try something completely opposite of what we're used to. Like make a picture that actually hurts your eyes to look at? Harsh patterns/colors but yet still has a good composition. Highest rating to the one that hurts your eyes the most? lol. just a crazy idea.

I'm not sure this would fly, as it would be hard to get psyched up to create an ugly image. It would be tough to vote on, and I doubt you'll find many people wanting that type of thing in their gallery. Only my opinion, but I do agree that we should have contests with fresh new themes. So many of these types of sites tend to have the same old themes. (Not talking about PA here, you know what I mean).
