View Full Version : How do you perceive the site?

Yes, I know this seems like an odd question but I was just wondering, given the way the site is evolving, which side of the graphics site fence it will eventually sit. Personally, I can see it moving more towards the DeviantArt type of site. Where it's as much a showcase of talent as it is for contests alone.

What do people think?

If we can achieve a balance and become a site that is a talent showcase for the pro photoshopper / digital artist / illustrator and a center of learning and encouragement for the wannabe amateurs then we will have achieved something that all others aspire to but have not achieved.

I feel right now that the aspirations for this site are way beyond the capabilities of people totally new to photoshopping, talented amateurs and above start here.

Although we'd like to have our site be a showcase for the professional to display his work, as well as compete in high level contests, we don't want to exclude the beginners. I'd like to provide contests for them as well...along with a large tutorial section. This along with the different forums where they can ask specific questions, should hopefully let the beginner feel just as at home here as anyone else.

I guess you could say we want it all and we're going to do our best to provide it all. :)
