In the Janusry 05 issue of Photoshop User magazine, there will be a mention of Pixel Addiction. I wrote a tutorial on "border crossing", inspired by contest sites such as W**** and Pixel Addiction. After looking at the contests I though it would be fun to write a short article showing one way to do this particular technique.
I starting writing the article for an earlier issue but it got pushed back so I finished it a few weeks ago. This weekend I was exploring some more of the web site and found the 3D breakout tutorial by Trinity of One.
Just wanted everyone to know that I had come up with my own technique based on lookng at the finished products. When I compared my article to Trinity's tut, there are some similarities and some key differences. Anyone who knows me or that has seen my tutorials knows that I don't borrow (or steal) ideas form anyone, but instead try to figure out how it was done. I thought it was important to mention this upfront so there would be no confusion.

Also important is the news is that the Jan issue will have a mention of this site.

Wow! This is awesome news, Dave! Also, there are a lot of different ways to do the OOB images...so I know there wouldn't be any confusion at all! This is great!

Cool Dave! No worries :) I know you're ethics and I know you wouldn't "borrow." I look forward to seeing the tutorial!

I wouldn't mind having a look at your take on the OoB thing. Like Silk says, there are many ways to approach it.

Many, many ways to slice cheese. You could use a hacksaw, a knife, a car with deadly blades as wheels -ummm, maybe not that last one- :D

What does matter, though, is that you took a moment to give the site some mention in Photoshop's premier magazine. Now that is awesome and I'm very happy to hear the news of your article and our mention as well. Thank you, Dave!

great news south-canuck and Thanks!

The best thing about photoshop I find is that in many instances there are many different methods to reach a similar conclusion. It is always nice to have another point of view, this way some people may feel more comfortable doing it one way versus the other.
