Hey! My name is Dave and I've been looking for a sight like this for a while. I am a photographer shooting with a Fuji S2, but what I'm really interested in is an Illustration style of images much like Jolt and silkenfairy's work. All I have right now is Photoshop Elements. I know I will need other programs but I don't know which? Anyway, can't wait to start.
Oh, I'm married and have a 2 year old and a 6 month old so replying sometimes might be slow. Again, love the sight!
Dave

Hi Dave! Welcome to Pixel Addiction! You might be interested to know that besides Illustration and Photoshop contests, we also run Photography contests. It sounds like you'll fit in perfectly! As for programs, I know our other members will be happy to fill you in on what you'll need. I use Paintshop Pro, but I'm definitely in the minority, I'm sure.

If you need some help with an avatar, or anything else, please just bellow. We have lots of people willing and able to help whenever they can.

Hope you enjoy our little community. I know you'll feel right at home in no time!

Hi Dave! Welcome aboard.

Actually Photoshop Elements will work for 90% of the image here. So don't be in any rush for a bigger app.

Glad you joined in! Hope to see some of your work soon. I always envy photographers, that's a skill I could just never get a good handle on.

We're going to have to create a "Daves Only" forum before too long. :)

Welcome Dave!

Elements is a pretty powerful piece of software, even with it's limitations. It's certainly geared toward photography, more than general image editing but it can certainly keep up if you push it !

Feel free to ask questions, we're here to help :)

Welcome Dave, ...

A camera, Photoshop Elements, Pixeladdiction .... what do you need more?...;)

maybe go for Photoshop Cs the day you explored elements all around maybe.
But I don't know any other upgrade for creativity than "PRACTICE & USING IMAGINATION".:)

Enjoy !
