Hello, everyone.

I've been a lurker until now (apart from a first contest entry).

I'm overseas - the East Coast of New Zealand.

I'm a beginner with Photoshop - spent the last couple of months using Elements and as of this week am now using a recent purchase, PS 8. (I'm in the process of finishing up my "ghost" entry for that contest - much easier now with masking.)

I start a lot of my sentences with "I"...

Yvonne.

Hi Yvonne! Thanks so much for popping in and letting us know a bit about you! I've seen you online several times and kept hoping you'd say hi! If you're a beginner with Photoshop you're definitely in the right place! We have quite a few VERY experienced Photoshoppers here, and they are all more than happy to pass along tips and secrets to help you as you learn. If you have any questions at all, or would like some input on some of your images, just ask...we're always happy to help. :)

Welcome to PA...I hope we see lots of your work in our upcoming contests!

Thanks for the welcomes!

I hope we see lots of your work in our upcoming contests!

That's what I'm trying to do - get better with PS through having to work out how to produce the entries. (At the moment, my ideas are bigger than my abilities...)

Thanks again, all, for making me welcome.

True, Maiden, just call me "Skippy" ...

Been to your neck of the woods once, and the air was blue - not with cussing but with smoke, the time of the bush fires. Was to have travelled on "Puffing Billy" but had to have a diesel engine instead because of the sparks/added fire risk.

"Cheers!", Blix.

Welcome YMS, as everybody above has said, this is a great place to learn. Best thing to remember is that there is no such thing as a stupid question.

Hi and welcome, Bobjr! If you're having problems figuring out where to post your intro, let me know. You found the right forum...just click on the link at the top that says "New Topic". Then, title your post and the rest should be self explanatory. Let me know if you run into problems from there. :)

Hello all, I this is my first night on and at the present having difficulty navigating my way around. Been at this for almost seven years now, started with PS 3. That was a waist of time cause I didn't learn a thing. Upgraded to 5.5 and got a little better skipped 6 and got 7. That made a big difference and now with CS I can see the light.

Currently in chapter 2 of Katrin Eismann's new book "Masking and Compositing". Couldn't recall enough of her other two books to get good at restoration, but this one maybe my best shot at doing something.

I also have Illustrator, I useed to do a lot of calligraphy, I enjoy poetry and enjoy putting quotes and poetry to picture, not any good at Illustrator but hope to learn it one day. Recently bought painter 9 and am impressed and plan to pursue it a little. Is painter featured here anywhere? Would like to meet with other painter users.

Anyway hello to all
